2nd Press PRESS RELEASE for MFQ 2010 Event
1st MISS FLORIDA QUINCE PAGEANT AND EXPO
(Naples, FL. March, 19, 2010) - The Miss Florida Quince Pageant and Expo
has been announced to take place on Sunday, May 23rd, 2010 in the heart of Southwest Florida at the strategically located
Three Oaks Banquet and Conference Center in Estero. This is a joint production by SOMOS Magazine and THE EVENT
LADY of Florida Weddings and Special Events. This daytime and evening presentation will be the first bilingual Quince Pageant and Expo of its kind in this area.
Isabel Albuerne “The Event Lady”, who coordinates these quince festivities comments, “The Quinceañera celebration is a much needed tradition,
one we need to help maintain alive for our Latino youth. These receptions resemble the famous debutante balls of yesterday,
and benefit and enrich the social development of the young ladies of our community. This pageant-expo event is an opportunity
to see the similarities within Quinceañeras and Sweet Sixteen celebration styles, therefore uniting teenage girls of
all cultures to share an enriching, youth experience.”
Natalia Harding, Somos Magazine editor states,
“The Hispanic Quince market is booming in Florida. The Bridal industry is benefiting from this growth by welcoming consumers
of Quinceañeras and Sweet Sixteen celebrations, which are similar in style and use many of the same providers. Part
of this activity will be an Expo in which professionals can assist in the planning of these special events by displaying their
services and products to the local community.”
The closing ceremony of the event will be a Pageant production,
much like a fashion run-way style presentation in which Florida teens will compete for the tiara and many coveted prizes.
Contestants are being invited to E-mail their entries with an image and a composition on the topic: “Why I Should be
Selected to Wear the First Miss Florida Quince Crown.” Characteristics such as academic achievements, community participation,
poise and personality will play a role in the selection process. The requirements and criteria for the Pageant can be obtained
via the contact information offered in this press release.
