Bridal Blast is Back in Southwest Florida

SW Florida has grown enormously in the past ten years. We have many young couples who choose to call it home and others who visit us for their dream tropical weddings. Our businesses have also grown, and there are many choices out there and much competition to obtain your business.

We are lucky to have many dedicated wedding service and product providers that are seriously committed to their work. Twice a year, many of them converge at Germain Arena in Estero, for what is known around here as The Bridal Blast. This is a huge, wedding special event founded by the bridal professional trade association, “The NAWP" (National Association of Wedding Professionals.) The National Association of Wedding Professionals

This is a group of which I can say I’m a proud member!

These bridal expos are two of the largest wedding shows of the year in the Naples-Fort Myers area. Over 500 bridal couples descend upon this enormous arena, from cities like our famous destination spots of Naples, Marco Island, Bonita Springs, Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Lehigh Acres, and even as far as Port Charlotte. The event is held around the same time every year to keep it constant and easy to remember. The first one is held at the beginning of the year, in February, and the second in August.

You will find over 100 exhibitions or booth displays, where brides and grooms can see on a first hand basis, everything from hotels and country clubs offering their literature on locations to hold the a ceremony or reception, plus DJ's, bands, limousines, photographers, videos, favors, cakes, bridal gowns, tuxedoes, flowers, private caterers; I could go on and on... but you get the picture right?Oh, let's not forget wedding planners and officiants! What could a bride do without these two?

If you are Quinceañera... please make plans to attend! Many of these vendors can assist you as well. Remember what "The Event Lady" always says, “A Quince is a Wedding Minus a Groom, and it's All Yours Forever."

This Expo is the perfect place to begin your wedding planning adventure, the creation of  your special day. You can meet these professionals face to face, sample their products, interact with each one, and see who fits your style, budget and personality. You will enjoy a delightful afternoon, filled with fashion news, music, prizes, food, and a ton of fun. In addition, you will receive free color bridal magazines such as Florida Bride, and The Knot. This informative show's has its own member's local publication, "The Naples-Fort Myers NAWP Chapter's Annual Bridal Guide", (we are in it of course.)

At this time, I also extend an invitation to visit our digital magazine files and Vendor Directory, right here on our The Event Lady's website, for additional helpful news.

Word of Advice, please wear comfortable shoes and warm clothes (the arena can get a bit cool), bring a comfy bag for all your literature (you will take home a bunch), and get ready to enjoy your exciting adventure into, "The Magic of Designing Your Special Day!" Please do this with the help of reputable vendors who are passionate about what they do.

So go ahead, mark your calendars for Sunday Feb 20th, 1-5 pm.Brides are Free, and other Guests are $7.00 per person. For more information visit wedshow.net or call 239- 431-7565

The Original Aisle Runner Co. Designs for Quince Parties!

The Original Runner Co.,  is not just a famous bridal company for celebrity weddings anymore! They make come true the dreams of many brides and young quince girls of different budgets!

The quinceañera consumer is a booming cousin to the bridal market,
and "The Aisle Guru" as they like to be called, now enjoys designing beautiful aisle runners for Quince and Sweet Sixteen events as well. Their established company has something for everyone's taste. You do not have to be a celebrity to feel like one with their special creations!

Did I mention these aisle runners do not tear or slip while you walk? Needless to say, be very careful with what you buy or rent. Make sure they have a non-skid backing like these do! An important safety feature often overlooked!

Check out this picture of an aisle runner for a Sweet Sixteen with an "Alice in Wonderland Theme." Bellisimo! This could be transformed for use in a quinceañera reception, by ordering with the number fifteen and your name.

As far as wedding aisle runners go;  they will always be the pioneers and leaders of the industry, and you will always find new and unique art choices on their site. You can custom order personalized items with your monogram, initials or party theme of choice. They will even do a company logo! Prices depend on length of the runner and the intricacy of your custom design. Standard solid colors and ready-made designs are always available and cost a bit less, a popular one is the Rose Petal Aisle Look!

This picture of a monogramed, red wedding aisle runner and coordinating flower girl bags are proof of their artistic skills! They now have a coordinating bridal accessory line.

Love this custom set- runner, ring pillow & 2 flower girl... on Twitpic

So go ahead, mention you found them on The Event Lady's site and enjoy your party planning by adding that "Red Carpet Entrance" detail, in any color of your choice!

 Best Wishes,

David Tutera brings Havana Nights Wedding Theme to We TV

The Event Lady loves anything bridal, and if its Cuban related, well then you know I can't resist. Therefore, I could not pass up sharing another piece of bridal news today!

This Sunday, February 6th, "Do Not Miss" the episode of David Tutera's My Fair Wedding! I'm definitely not!

Celebrity bridal planner and star of the WeTV show "My Fair Wedding" David Tutera is planning a "1950’s Havana Nights Theme" Wedding Event.

The bride and groom are Kimberly and Eddie. Tutera is taking into consideration the bride's emotions, driven by her strong spirit; she is a cancer survivor.  This is the main reason for her love of the color pink! Her fiancee Eddie is of Cuban origin, needless to say her inspiration and love for the Cuban culture!

Kimberly  and Eddie, met on an on-line dating site, afterwards, they finally saw each other in person, and of course the rest is pure history! They love to dance Salsa...so I think we will see much of that incorporated into the wedding reception.

The bride will be wearing a gown from that period of history,
created by Cuban designer  Jorge Perez de la Habana. Readers, you have to browse this designer's gown gallery!

Kimberly's gown is available at www.panachebridalbeverlyhills.com
The
bridesmaids 1950's theme inspired gowns, will be from Unique-Vintage.com.

There are many Proud Wedding Sponsors for this National event, so "The Event Lady" shares this link so you check on all of them by visiting the WeTV event link for this Latin theme decor, television episode.

The rest of this show's schedule can be found by visiting WeTV 's Site.

You can view a wedding planning session video of this bridal couple being interviewed by Tutera, by clicking here!

Now of course... I'm sure Tutera does not need my advice! But for you my dear readers; I share some images of Tropical wedding theme and Havana Night events, done right here in sunny Southwest Florida!

Florida Weddings and Special Events Weblog

The Event Lady's blog posts are focused on the wedding, sweet sixteen and quince/sweet fifteen
celebrations of Florida, we love to hear about many other social events happening in our own Florida communities.

A quince celebration is very much like a wedding reception; it is a traditional coming of age celebration in a young woman's life within the Hispanic culture.
The Event Lady is an expert in both weddings and quinceañera events, and feeling proud of her Cuban heritage; enjoys this very special niche of the special event industry. Quinces parties have very similar planning needs to a wedding event.

We invite Florida brides and quinceañeras of all nationalities to comment on our blogs, each one has a small cooment link on the bottom of each post.

We also invite wedding photographers to tell us about their great events; submit event images with your website credit on them of course on the lower right hand corner
so you can share bridal ideas and savvy wedding tips.

We invite any wedding and quince professionals to inform us about the latest industry news, useful articles and product updates.

We will review your submissions, and if we feel they could be good for this blog, then post them up for you so that the readers;
most importantly our Floridian brides, quince and sweet sixteen girls,
will have additional resources for their event coordination within our tropical Sunshine State region.
