United Way of Collier County's 3rd Annual Walk for the Way

The United Way of Collier County (UWCC) is delighted to have the support of Florida Weddings
as a media sponsor for its 3rd Annual “Walk for the Way.”
Presented by Publix Super Markets
and in partnership with Collier County Parks & Recreation, this major fundraising event will take place on Saturday, September
27, 2008, at North Collier Regional Park located off Livingston Road in Naples, Florida.
Registration and team check in for the walk will also begin at 8 a.m., with the actual two-mile walk at 9 a.m., and
a kids carnival at 10 a.m. In addition to these special events there will also be vendor booths, giveaways, demonstrations,
and an agency village with all 32 UWCC partner agencies.
Visitors and customers of Florida Weddings are encouraged
to attend this important event which helps UWCC partner agencies serve over 100,000 people a year.
Any residents that are not part of a walk team can still attend the event for $10 (kids 10 and under and wheelchair-bound
citizens are free). A commemorative t-shirt and bracelet will be given to all walk-in guests. The carnival will begin
at 10 a.m. and includes a bounce house, face painting, clowns, and many midway-inspired games. A $5 wristband can be purchased
for unlimited carnival access or individual tickets for $1-$2.
There will
also be special appearances by “Sunny”, the Collier County Parks & Recreation Mascot; “McGruff”,
the Collier County Sheriffs Department Mascot; “Tooth Fairy”, representing the Collier County Health Department;
and “Ronald McDonald” representing the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile.

The UWCC has been serving the people of Naples and Collier County since 1957, raising funds to support the work of
many local human service agencies. Largely a volunteer organization, UWCC operates efficiently with a small paid
